Welcome to the Equity Teacher Leader Podcast! I’m Dr. Rachael Mahmood, your 2024 Illinois Teacher of the Year. I’m thrilled to create this space to celebrate the voices and expertise of teacher leaders making a difference through equity work in their classrooms, schools, and communities. Teachers bring collective wisdom, creativity, passion, and knowledge to their classrooms and schools. Leveraging and elevating the amazing teacher leaders across our country is the key to school improvement. Together, we can advocate for equitable policies and practices that positively impact students' lives and uplift the education field. You don’t need a title or formal position to lead. Every teacher is a leader, and every teacher can be an equity leader. This podcast is about learning in community with great teacher leaders.
